You Live And You Learn...
1.Basic/standard rights: With a beat leasing contract, the producer maintains full ownership and may continue to sell the
instrumental until an exclusive license is purchased for it,
after which it can no longer be sold again.
Any artists who had leased the beat before the exclusive was purchased
would not be affected until their beat lease contract reaches it's termination deadline.
2.Premium lease-In short, this lease grants the artist or licensee unlimited rights to the beat.
It’s similar to the unlimited rights that is received with an exclusive rights agreement,
but without sole use of the beat.
This means that the producer can continue to lease the beat to however many artists they want.
3.Unlimited Lease- "Unlimited Rights"
An unlimited lease allows the artist or licensee full permission to distribute
however many copies of the recording they want. This includes monetized streaming, paid performances, music videos etc.
4.What are Exclusive Rights?
Exclusives, or exclusive rights for a beat, legally names the artist as the exclusive owner to use it in creating a
'Master Recording'.
It’s bound by contract and gives you as an artist full ownership of the beat to the extent that you will
be the last person to purchase it.
Biography
Producing Hip-Hop music is a craft I could always see myself doing. I started making beats on my tablet off this app I had downloaded back in 2014. Eventually I learned more about producing music then I started writing and producing my own music. Presonous products and software's like Studio One helped me to step up my beat making skills. I became a member of Ascap in 2015 and I also sold a few of my beats to different local up and coming rappers. Most of the time I get good feedback from people when I release music and that's mainly what keeps me going.
